Pricing questions
What runners ask before subscribing
What happens after the 7-day trial?
On the 7th day your card is charged the annual price ($99.99). You can cancel any time during the trial in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, or in Profile → Manage Subscription on the web, and you will not be charged.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel any time in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, or in Profile → Manage Subscription on the web. Your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period.
Do I need an Apple Watch or a Garmin?
No. Threshold works with any GPS watch, any running app, or no watch at all. Apple Health sync is built in today; Garmin, Coros, and Strava integrations are on the roadmap.
Do I need a lactate meter?
No. Threshold estimates your lactate-threshold pace from your race results using VDOT tables, then refines it from heart-rate and session feedback. A lab test is the gold standard, but most runners are within 2–4 seconds per kilometer without one.
Is there a monthly plan?
Yes — $14.99/month with no trial. The annual plan ($99.99, with 7 days free) saves about 44% and is how most runners subscribe.
How does this compare to Runna?
Runna is a polished running app built around pre-made plans from coaches. Threshold is built around one documented methodology — Marius Bakken's Norwegian double-threshold framework — and enforces safety rules that prevent overtraining. Same price bracket; very different product.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
